Stretch Bolts

The Stretch Bolts option allows you to change the length of existing bolts, without changing the orientation of the bolts. This is particularly useful for changing the length of bolts in a bolt pattern, and allows you to easily study the effect of different bolt lengths, without having to re-enter an existing pattern.

To stretch bolts:

1. Select the Stretch Bolts option from the Support menu.
2. Use the mouse to select the end vertices of the bolt(s) that you wish to stretch.

Note: you must select only the end vertex of the bolt that you wish to stretch. If you select both vertices of a bolt, then both ends of the bolt will be stretched.

1. When you are finished selecting, press Enter or right-click and select Done Selection.
2. You will see the Stretch Bolts dialog, which allows you to enter a value for the stretch. Enter a positive value to increase the length of the bolt(s). Enter a negative value to decrease the length of the bolt(s). select [OK] and the length of the bolts will be changed by the specified amount.
