Import Tools
The Import Tools option allows you to import drawing tools from one RS2 file to another RS2 file.
To import tools:
- Select Import Tools from the Import sub-menu of the File menu.
- You will see an Open File dialog. Tools can be imported from the following file types (see below for details):
- .fez
- .p2i
- .p2m
- .pht
- Open the desired file, and all drawing tools contained in the file will be imported into the current RS2 file.
File Types for Tools Import
Drawing tools can be imported from the following RS2 file types:
- .fez - a .fez file is a zipped (compressed) file which contains all RS2 model and analysis data. Since Phase2/RS2 version 7, the .fez file also contains auxiliary files such as the .p2i and .p2m files used to store drawing tools, display settings and other information. When you import tools from a .fez file, you are actually importing the tools from a .p2i or .p2m file contained within the .fez file. If the .fez file contains both .p2i and .p2m files, then you will be asked which file you would like to import.
- .p2i - this is the extension used for settings files created in the RS2 Interpret program (version 7). A .p2i file is used to store drawing tools, queries, display settings and other information. If you save your RS2 files using the compressed (.fez) file format, then normally you will not see the .p2i files, since they are contained within the .fez file. If you save your RS2 files in uncompressed (.fea) format, then the .p2i files will be visible in your file directory. A .p2i file can also be created with the Export Tools option.
- .p2m - this is the extension used for settings files created in the Phase2 Model program (version 7). A .p2m file is used to store drawing tools, display settings and other information. If you save your RS2 files using the compressed (.fez) file format, then normally you will not see the .p2m files, since they are contained within the .fez file. If you save your RS2 files in uncompressed (.fea) format, then the .p2m files will be visible in your file directory.
- .pht - this is the extension used for tools files created in version 6 of the Phase2 Interpret program. In Phase2 version 6, the .pht files were NOT contained within the .fez file, therefore they will be visible in your file directory even if you saved your Phase2 (version 6) files using the .fez (compressed) format.
