Show Yielded Joints
If your model contains Joints, the display of yielded (failed) joint elements can be turned on or off with the Show Yield option. This can be accessed through the toolbar, right-click or main menu:
- Toolbar shortcut - select the Show Yielded Joints toolbar button.
- Right-click shortcut - right-click on any joint boundary and select Yielded Joints from the popup menu.
- Show Yield Dialog - select the Joints check box in the Show Yield dialog. The Show Yield dialog is available from the Show Yield sub-menu of the Analysis menu.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Joints can only yield if you have defined a Joint Slip Criterion in the Define Joint Properties dialog. If the Joint Slip Criterion = None, then the Joint cannot slip, and joint yielding cannot be displayed in the RS2 Interpret program.
Yielded Joints
The Yielded Joints option will highlight all yielded joint elements. Yielding is determined according to the slip criterion properties you have defined for the joint(s) in the RS2 Modeler, and may indicate either tensile or shear failure.
