Assign Structural Interfaces
When a Structural Interface boundary is added to a model, the properties and staging (if applicable) must be assigned to the Structural Interface. (Default properties and staging are automatically assigned by RS2 if the user takes no action).
There are three ways in which the assigning of Structural Interface properties can be achieved:
- When adding a Structural Interface - when a Structural Interface is initially added to a model (using the Add Structural Interface option), you can select the Property type in the dialog which appears before you add the boundary to the model.
- Assign Properties dialog - at any time after a Structural Interface has been added to a model, you can use the Assign Properties dialog (available in the toolbar or the Properties menu) to assign properties and staging.
- Right-click shortcut - assigning properties can also be achieved with a convenient right-click shortcut. If you right-click directly on a Structural Interface boundary, the popup menu will provide shortcuts to assign properties.
- Edit Structural Interface dialog - after a structural interface has been added, you can edit one or multiple of them with the Edit Structural Interface option under the Support menu.
NOTE: Structural Interface properties can be assigned either before or after the mesh has been generated.
For further details about assigning properties to a Structural Interface, see the Assign Joints topic, as the method of assigning properties is essentially the same for Joint boundaries and Structural Interface boundaries.
