Edit Tools Overview
Drawing tools which have been added to a view can be formatted, moved, re-sized, edited, deleted, copied, hidden or displayed using the following options:
These options are available from the Tools menu and/or the following mouse-click actions.
TIP: Note that you can move any of the tools while in Print Preview.
Right-Click
If you right-click the mouse on a Drawing Tool, you will see a popup menu with applicable options for the tool.
- Standard options for most tools include Copy, Delete, Format and Hide.
- Additional options are available for specific tools. For example, Edit Text and Rotate are available for Text Box tools, and Copy (Slide modeler format) and Export DXF are available for Polyline or Polygon tools.
Single Left-Click
If you single-click the left mouse button on a Drawing Tool, this will "select" the tool, and you will see the "control points" highlighted on the tool. While in this mode:
- Re-size – you can click and drag the control points, to re-size the tool, if applicable
- Move – if you hover the mouse over any part of the Drawing Tool, but NOT on a control point, you will see the four-way arrow cursor, allowing you to click and drag the entire Drawing Tool to a new location
- Delete – you can delete the selected tool by pressing Delete on the keyboard
Double Left-Click
If you double-click the left mouse button on a Drawing Tool, you will see the Format Tool dialog, which allows you to customize line thickness, style, colour and other attributes. Only the options applicable to the clicked-on tool, will be available in the Format Tool dialog.
