SSR Exclusion Area
If you are carrying out a Shear Strength Reduction (SSR) analysis with RS2, by default the SSR analysis considers the stability of the entire model when the analysis is computed. This means that the critical failure zone may occur anywhere in the model.
The SSR Exclusion Area option allows you to define a region of the model which is excluded from the SSR analysis. For example, you may wish to exclude individual benches on a benched slope, in order to analyze a more deep seated region of the model. NOTE:
- The SSR Exclusion Area option works exactly like the SSR Search Area option, except "in reverse" (i.e. rather than choosing a search area, you are excluding an area from the search).
- You can define one or more SSR Exclusion Areas as required.
- You cannot define SSR Exclusion Areas AND SSR Search Areas in the same model. As soon as you define an exclusion area, the search area option will be disabled, and vice versa.
For details about adding, deleting and editing exclusion areas, see the SSR Search Area topic, as the options behave in exactly the same manner.
