Edit Displacement
To edit the values of existing displacement boundary conditions, use the Edit Displacement option, available from the Displacements menu or as a right-click shortcut. When accessed from the right-click menu, Edit Displacement can also be used to create a new displacement on the selected boundary.
Right-Click Shortcut for Applying Displacement
Displacement can also be applied using the following right-click shortcut:
- Right-click the mouse directly on a boundary line segment or vertex.
- The segment or vertex will be highlighted, and a popup menu will appear.
- Select Edit Displacement from the popup menu.
- You will see a dialog allowing you to enter X and Y displacements.
This allows you to quickly change or add a displacement boundary condition on any boundary line segment or vertex, without having to use the toolbar or menu options. The finite element mesh must exist in order for this right-click option to be enabled.
You cannot use the right-click method to apply displacements to individual boundary nodes (unless the node is coincident with a boundary vertex). To apply a displacement to a non-vertex boundary node, use the Set Displacement option and set the Selection Mode to Pick by Boundary Node. See Set Displacement for more information.
