Initial Conditions Overview

The initial conditions of a material can be defined under the Initial Conditions tab in the Define Material Properties dialog. It contains the following categories. See details in each topic.

• Initial Element Loading
• Unit Weight
• Porosity Value
• Initial Water Condition
• Initial Temperature Condition
  • This section is only available when a Finite Element Thermal Analysis is performed (i.e., Thermal Method = Steady State FEA or Transient FEA in the Project Settings dialog).
