Joint Frequency
The Joint Frequency option allows you to plot the Joint Frequency calculated from distance measurements recorded along a linear or borehole Traverse. This is a simple 1D frequency measured as joints per meter (metric) or joints per foot (imperial) along each interval.
To use the Joint Frequency option:
- You must have at least one (or more) Linear or Borehole Traverses defined (e.g., Linear Scanline, Linear Borehole Oriented Core, Linear Borehole Televiewer, Curved Borehole Oriented Core, Curved Borehole Televiewer).
If the above criteria are met, then the Frequency option will be enabled.
To create a Joint Frequency chart:
- Select Joint Analysis > Frequency
from the Analysis ribbon. - In the Joint Frequency dialog, select all or any combination of individual traverse(s) using the Traverses checkboxes. You can quickly select all or none using the Select All and Deselect All buttons.
- Select the Interval Type from the drop down as either Discrete or Moving.
- Enter an Interval value.
- Enter a Move Increment (if Interval = Moving).
- Optionally, select the Weighting checkbox to apply weighting to the joint count.
- Click OK, and a graph of Joint Frequency along the length of the selected Traverse(s) will be plotted.
At least one Traverse must be selected.
