Measure Angle
The Measure Angle option allows you to calculate the angle between any two points (planes) on the stereonet.
To use the Measure Angle option:
- Select Measure > Angle
from the Tools ribbon. - Left-click at a point (pole) on the stereonet. Remember that the cursor coordinates are always displayed in the lower-right corner of the Status Bar.
- Left-click at a second point (pole).
- The Measure Angle dialog will immediately appear, displaying:
- The acute and obtuse angles between the two points (poles) selected.
- The coordinates of the two selected points are also displayed, in the format corresponding to the current Reporting Orientation Convention (i.e., Trend/Plunge, Dip/Dip Direction, Strike (right)/Dip, Strike (left)/Dip).
- Modify the points by entering the coordinates or graphically by left-clicking and dragging the pole handles. The result is immediately calculated and displayed in the dialog.
- Click OK to finalize the Measure Angle entity.
Editing Measure Angle
After a Measure Angle tool has been added, it can be modified.
To edit a Measure Angle tool:
- Select a Measure Angle tool from the Visibility tree or graphically by left-click.
- Click Edit Tool in the Properties pane or select Annotation > Edit Tool
from the Tools ribbon. - In the Measure Angle dialog, enter the First Plane and Second Plane orientations or graphically change the plane orientations by dragging the pole handles.
- Click OK to finalize editing.

Right-Click Options
The following options are available in the right-click menu while graphically adding/editing a Measure Angle tool:
- Done
- Cancel
The following options are available in the right-click menu on an existing Measure Angle tool:
