Display Options Overview
The Display Options allow you to customize the visual appearance of stereonets, rosette plots, symbols, and kinematic analysis overlays across all views in the Dips project. Changes made in the Display Options dialog affect how your data and analyses are presented on screen and in exported images.
The Display Options dialog contains six tabs, each controlling a different aspect of the visual display:
- Stereonet 2D - Customize the appearance of 2D stereonet plots
- Rosette Plot - Customize the appearance of rosette (rose diagram) plots
- Stereonet 3D - Customize the appearance of 3D stereonet views
- Symbols - Define how data points and vectors are drawn
- Entity Colors - Set default colors for planes, cones, and analysis results
- Kinematic Analysis - Control the display of kinematic analysis overlays
To edit Display Options:
- Select Display > Display Options
from the Home ribbon. - Make the required customizations in the following tabs:
- Stereonet 2D
- Rosette Plot
- Stereonet 3D
- Symbols
- Entity Colors
- Kinematic Analysis
- Click OK for the changes to take effect.
Defaults
After making changes in the Display Options dialog, you can save or revert settings to the default in the dialog:
- Click the Defaults button.
- In the Defaults dialog, select one of the following options:
- Save current selections as the default for future Dips projects
- Restore original program defaults
- Click OK.
