Quantitative Chart
Quantitative analysis groups data by equal bins, so that entries with values within the bin range are grouped and their unweighted or weighted quantities counted.
To create a Quantitative chart:
- Select Qualitative/Quantitative > Chart
from the Analysis ribbon. - The Qualitative/Quantitative Analysis dialog appears. Select Data Column from the drop down.
- Select the Quantitative radio button.
- Optionally, select the Custom Range checkbox and specify user-defined Minimum and Maximum. By default, the selected data range is used.
- Select the Scale option as either Normal or Logarithmic.
- Enter the Number of Intervals (i.e., number of bins).
- Optionally, select the Weighted checkbox if you would like the counts to be representative of weighted Quantity values (i.e. Quantity x Weight).
- Select the Chart Type from the drop down.
- Click OK to create a new chart.
Only columns with a Numeric Data Type can be plotted as Quantitative.
When selecting Logarithmic, data values less than or equal to 0 are undefined when used as a logarithmic argument and are treated as "OTHER".
- Data outside the Custom Range (if applicable) and/or results in undefined logarithmic values (i.e., x <= 0) (if applicable) is grouped under "OTHER".
- Blank data is grouped under "[No Value]".
