Symbols
The Symbols tab allows users to define how poles, vectors, and intersection points are displayed on stereonets.
Symbol Types
Each symbol type can be individually customized:
- Pole Vectors — Poles displayed as pole vectors (perpendicular to planes)
- Dip Vectors — Poles displayed as dip vectors
- Critical Vectors — Poles within kinematic critical zones
- Intersections (Grid) — Calculated intersections between poles
- Critical Intersections (Grid) — Pole intersections within kinematic critical zones
- Intersections (Other) — Calculated intersections between major planes (i.e., mean set planes and/or user planes)
- Critical Intersections (Other) — Major plane intersections within kinematic critical zones
- Traverses — Traverse measurement markers
Symbol Properties
- Style — Shape of the symbol (Circle, Square, Diamond, Triangle, Cross, Asterisk, or None)
- Border — Outline color of the symbol
- Fill — Enable/disable interior fill
- Fill color — Interior color when fill is enabled
- Symbol scale — Size of this specific symbol type (0.1-10)
Global Scaling
- All Symbol Scale % — Multiplier applied to all symbols (25%-200%). Use this to quickly make all symbols larger or smaller.
