Chart Overview

Several charts are available in Dips:

• Qualitative/Quantitative Analysis
• Joint Spacing
• Joint Frequency
• RQD Analysis
• Kinematic Sensitivity
• Histogram
• Cumulative
• Scatter

The following options are available in all Dips chart views:

Filter

Similar to all other Dips views, the Pole Grid Data used to generate the chart data can be Unfiltered or Filtered. See the Data Filter topic for more information.

Change Chart Data

Chart data can be edited in the corresponding dialog to update the current chart view.

Chart data can be changed in one of two way:

• Select Chart Data > Change Data from the Chart ribbon
• Select the Chart Data button from the Chart Properties pane

Copy Data

The Copy Data option copies chart data to the Windows clipboard.

To copy chart data to clipboard:

1. Select Chart Data > Copy Data from the Chart ribbon.

Chart In Excel

The Chart In Excel option launches Microsoft Excel with the corresponding chart data and chart.

To chart in Excel:

1. Select Chart Data > Chart in Excel from the Chart ribbon.

Weighting

For chart types where weighting is applicable, Terzaghi Weighting can be on or off from the corresponding dialog or from the Chart ribbon:

1. Select Weighting > Apply Weighting from the Chart ribbon.

Chart Options

Various chart options are available depending on the chart type:

• Relative Frequency: Toggle Relative Frequency on or off (applicable to Histogram only)
• Input Distribution: Toggle Input Distribution visibility on or off (applicable to Histogram and Joint Spacing only).
• Regression Line: Toggle Input Distribution visibility on or off (applicable to Histogram and Joint Spacing only).

View

• Zoom All: Zoom to chart extents
• Copy Chart Image: Copy chart as a bitmap to the Windows clipboard

Chart Properties

Several chart properties can be set from the Chart Properties pane.
