Column Options
The Pole Data Grid view offers several column options that make data reporting easier:
- Columns can be resized
- Columns can be reordered
- Columns can be sorted
- Columns can be grouped by data
- Columns can be shown/hidden
- Data can be searched
- Data can be filtered
Resize Column
Left-click and drag between column headers to resize. The following options are also available in the right-click menu for each column:
- Best Fit
- Best Fit (all columns)
Reorder Column
Left-click and drag the middle of column headers to reorder.
Column Visibility
Columns you wish to see can be selected from the Column Chooser. The following option is available in the right-click menu for each column:
- Show/Hide Column Chooser
To edit the visibility of columns:
- Right-click on any column header and select Show Column Chooser (if not already visible)
- In the Column Chooser pane, select the columns you wish to see using the checkboxes.
Sort Column Data
Left-click once on the column header to sort by ascending and once more to sort by descending. The following options are also available in the right-click menu for each column:
- Sort Ascending
- Sort Descending
- Clear Sorting
Group Column Data
The Pole Data Grid allows data to be grouped by any number of columns. When data is grouped by a single column, data rows that have identical values in this column are arranged into groups. Each group is identified by a group row. If the data is grouped by another column, data rows within each group are arranged into second level groups based on the values of the new group column. Group rows are used to organize data rows into a tree when data grouping is applied. The following options are available in the right-click menu for each column:
- Show/Hide Group Panel
- Group By This Column
You can group by column in one of two ways:
- Left-click and drag a column header to the group panel
- Right-click on a column header and select Group By This Column
To ungroup by column:
- Right-click on a group and select Ungroup
To display a group summary of Max, Min, Average, Sum, and/or Count:
- Right-click on a group and select Group Summary Editor
- In the Group Summaries dialog, customize the Items and the Order they appear in with each grouping.
- Click OK apply the changes.
Groups are sorted in ascending group value by default. Right-click on the group to toggle to sort by descending. Further customizations can be applied to sorting with Sort By Summary option if summary items are shown.
Search Data
Data can be searched for in the Search field.
To search for data:
- Right-click on any column and select Show Search Panel (if not already visible)
- In the Search at the top-right of the view, enter the search field and hit ENTER.
- All matching data is highlighted yellow.
Select the X button beside the Search or hit ESC to clear the search.
Data Filter
A data filter can be defined to query the column data in the Pole Data Grid according to conditional statements. When a Filter Applied is selected in the Filter pane, all matching rows of data are highlighted LIGHT GREEN.
