Edit User Plane
User Planes which have been added with the Add User Plane option can be edited.
To edit a User Plane:
- Select a User Plane from the Visibility tree or graphically.
- Select User Planes > Edit
from the Stereonet 2D (or Rosette) ribbon, or click the Edit Plane button in the Properties pane. - The Edit User Plane dialog appears with options to modify the Name, Color, and Orientation. The Orientation can also be graphically modified by left-clicking and dragging the pole handle.
- Click OK to finalize the User Plane and exit edit mode.
TIP: Alternatively, right-click on a User Plane and click Edit User Plane to enter edit mode.
Lineations
Lines which occur on planes, such as slickensides or fault striations, can be displayed on User Planes as follows:
- Select a User Plane from the Visibility tree or graphically.
- Select Edit Lineations button in the Properties pane.
- The Lineations dialog appears. Add a row for each desired Lineation you wish to define by clicking the Add button.
- Enter an Angle which defines the angle of the lineation with respect to the dip vector of the plane. The allowable range is -90 to +90 degrees.
You may also define a Direction, either Up or Down, to indicate the direction of slip movement. - Click OK.
Direction of movement is indicated by an up or down triangular symbol.
