Import CSV Settings Template
Various selections must be made as you progress through the Import CSV wizard, which essentially tells Dips:
- Which Traverse Type you would like to import
- For each data type, which headers you would like to populate
- From which columns/rows would you like to read the data from in the imported file(s)
If you tend to import files with the same formats, you can save time by creating an Import CSV Settings Template so that your selections for the following are saved:
- Traverse Type
- Traverse Data
- Row Setup
- Column Setup
- Survey Data
- Row Setup
- Column Setup
- De-Survey Options
- Discontinuities Data
- Row Setup
- Column Setup
- Data Orientation
- Columns (i.e., Quantity Column, Distance Column)
Applying a Template
To apply a template to Import CSV, select from the Template drop down at the top of the Import Settings page. The Traverse Type will be automatically checked in accordance with the Import CSV Template selected. Proceed with Next.
Once a template is applied, the only thing you will have to do is add import file(s) and click Next to proceed with each data type.
SAVING TEMPLATES
Creating and reusing user-defined Import CSV Templates is helpful for importing data of the same format over and over again.
After you have navigated through the Import CSV dialog, the last page (Import Summary) will give you the option to save your current selections as a template for later use. Before clicking on Finish, ensure that you have Save Current Settings as Template checked and specify a Template Name.
MANAGING TEMPLATES
