Open Project
Dips files have a .dips9 filename extension. Older versions have a .dips8, .dips7 and .dips6 extension.
To open an existing Dips file:
- Click on the File > Open
button from Home ribbon, or select File > Open Project from the menu.
There is a new file format for the latest version of Dips. The main Dips file now has a * .dips9 filename extension. This is a binary file which contains the Dips input file.
Backwards compatibility
Dips can still read version 8.0, 7.0, and 6.0 files. Dips version 5.0 and older files are out of support.
Open ShapeMetriX File
In addition to Dips files, Dips is able to read in custom *.3gdps files created by the 3GSM program ShapeMetriX. To learn more, see the ShapeMetriX help topic.
