Line from Two Planes Tool Intersection Calculator

The Line from Two Planes Intersection Calculator tool allows you to quickly and accurately calculate the line of intersection of two planes.

To calculate the intersection of two planes:

1. Select Measure > Line from Two Planes Tool from the Tools ribbon.
2. Left-click to place the first plane.
3. Left-click again to place the second plane.
4. The Line Intersection Calculator dialog appears with the orientation coordinates of the graphically entered planes, and the resulting intersection line. If necessary you can edit the plane orientations in the dialog or graphically by left-clicking and dragging the pole handles.
5. Click OK to add the planes and intersection point to the stereonet.

Results

The results of the intersection calculation are displayed as a popup tool tip if you hover the mouse over the intersection line.
