Trend Line

The Trend Line option allows you to add a line through the center of stereonet or rosette plots. Adding a line to a plot is useful when comparing poles or concentrations on opposite sides of the stereonet. The line may also be used to show a dominant orientation, such as the trend of a tunnel centerline or the strike of a vertical wall.

To add a trend line:

1. Select Stereonet > Trend Line from the Tools ribbon.
2. The mouse follows the trend of the trend line. Left-click to place the trend line.
3. The Edit Trend Line dialog appears with options to modify the Color, and Trend. The Trend can be graphically modified by left-clicking and dragging the handle.
   
4. Click OK to finalize the Trend Line and add it to the view.

Editing Trend Lines

After a Trend Line has been added, it can be rotated, formatted, etc.

To edit a trend line:

1. Select a trend line from the Visibility tree or graphically by left-clicking.
2. Click Edit Tool in the Properties pane or select Annotation > Edit Tool from the Tools ribbon.
3. In the Edit Trend Line dialog, enter the Trend or graphically change the trend line orientation by dragging the handle around the stereonet.
4. Click OK to finalize editing.

Right-Click Options

The following options are available in the right-click menu while graphically adding/editing a Trend Line:
