Survey Data
For Curved Borehole Oriented Core or Curved Borehole Televiewer Traverses, the survey data is entered in the Survey Data tab in the Orientation Data dialog.
De-Survey Options
For analysis purposes, curved borehole surveys in Dips are represented by a series of linear segments.
There are two possible de-survey options:
- Linear, at segment ends: Directly connect the survey points with linear segments
- Linear, at mid-points: Each survey point is the mid-point of a linear segment.
Columns
For each distance interval, the required columns are as follows:
- Trend
- Plunge
- Distance
Enter directly in the cell or paste into the grid by pressing CTRL + V on the keyboard.
Add Column
Any number of extra columns can be added to record additional information at each Distance interval.
To add an extra column:
- Click Add Column button.
- In the Rename Column dialog:
- Enter the Column Name.
- Select the Data Type
- Select the Format
- Click OK to add a user-defined extra column.
Delete Column
Only user-defined extra columns can be deleted.
To delete an extra column:
- Click the Delete button in the column header
Rename Column
Only user-defined extra columns can be renamed.
To rename an extra column:
- Click the Edit button in the column header
Units
Units can be defined for unit-sensitive inputs such as the Distance by clicking Define Units.
In the Define Unit dialog:
- Distance Units are restricted to Data Type = Length
- Extra column Data Type and Format are unrestricted
