User Defined Preset Templates
The User-Defined Preset Templates feature allows you to efficiently save and load visibility options to and from any Stereonet 2D, Stereonet 3D, or Rosette view on your local machine.
Save Preset
To save the preset options of the current view:
- Select User-Defined Preset Templates > Save Preset
from the Stereonet 2D, Stereonet 3D, or Rosette ribbon. - In the Rename dialog, specify a Preset Template name. A default name "View Template (1, 2, 3, ...)" is automatically populated.
- Click OK to save the preset.
The Preset's Name can be renamed in the Preset Manager later, if needed.
Load Preset
To load a previously saved preset from your local machine to the current active view:
- Select User-Defined Preset Templates > Load Preset
dropdown from the Stereonet 2D, Stereonet 3D, or Rosette ribbon. You will see a list of previously saved Presets to select from. - Select a Preset to Load.
Specific visibility toggles and properties for entities will be automatically updated.
Preset Manager
The Template Manager dialog shows a list of Preset Templates available on your local machine and options to Rename and Delete Preset Templates that were previously saved.
Preset Templates can also be imported or exported:
- For Stereonet 2D view Preset Templates, the file extension is .stereonet2dviewtemplate
- For Stereonet 3D view Preset Templates, the file extension is .stereonet3dviewtemplate
- For Rosette view Preset Templates, the file extension is .rosetteviewtemplate
The Import or Export feature is convenient for sharing Preset Templates across different machines.
To manage Preset Templates on your local machine:
- Select User-Defined Preset Templates > Preset Manager
from the Stereonet 2D, Stereonet 3D, or Rosette ribbon. - The Template Manager dialog appears, allowing you to select a Preset Template from the list.
- To rename the Preset Template, select the Rename button. Specify a Preset Template name in the Rename dialog.
- To delete the Preset Template, select the Delete button.
- To import a Preset Template file, select the Import button. The Open dialog will appear, allowing you to specify the directory and filename. The newly imported Preset Template will appear in the list of Preset Templates.
- To export a Preset Template file, select the Export button. A standard Save As dialog will appear, allowing you to specify the directory and filename.
- Click Close to exit the dialog.
