Edit Tool
Tools which have been added to a view can be formatted, moved, resized, edited, deleted, copied, hidden or displayed using the following options:
- Properties
- Visibility
- Edit Tool
- Copy Tool
- Delete Tool
These options are available in the Visibility tree/Properties pane, Tools ribbon and/or in the right-click menu.
Selection
Tools support two-way selection between the Visibility tree or graphically, by left-clicking in the Stereonet 2D or Rosette view. When a tool is selected, you will see:
- The tool is drawn with a bold halo effect
- The corresponding item in the Visibility tree is selected, and
- The Properties pane will update to reflect the selection.
Visibility
In the Visibility tree, tool visibility can be turned on or off at any time using the Tools visibility toggle (to turn all tools on or off) or sub-visibility toggles (to turn individual tool types on or off).
Properties
Tool properties can be configured in the Properties pane when you select an individual tool from the Visibility tree or graphically, by left-clicking in the Stereonet 2D or Rosette view.
Depending on the tool type, various properties are displayed and can be quickly edited in the Properties pane:
- Name (read-only)
- Text Color
- Horizontal Alignment
- Font Name
- Font Size
- Line Color
- Line Width
- Apply Fill
- Fill Color
Edit Tool
Tools editing mode can be activated either from Edit Tools button in the Properties pane, Annotations > Edit Tools in the Tools ribbon and/or Edit Tool in the right-click menu. When a tool is being edited, you will see:
- The tool is drawn with red dashed lines and control point handles
- The edit dialog is shown, allowing for full tool formatting customization
While in this mode, you can edit as follows:
- Tool Properties – the tool properties (e.g. colour, line format, fill format) can be customized in the dialog
- Re-size – you can click and drag the control points to re-size the Tool (if applicable)
- Move – you can click and drag the center point to translate the entire Tool to a new location (if applicable)
- Delete – you can delete the selected tool by pressing Delete on the keyboard
Right-Click
If you right-click on a Drawing Tool, you will see a popup menu with applicable options for the tool. Standard options for most tools include:
- Edit
- Delete
- Copy
