Add Fold
The Add Fold option allows you to create a set window by drawing a freehand polygon or "lasso" around a grouping of poles.
To add a Fold:
- Select Fold Analysis > Add Fold
from the Stereonet 2D (or Rosette) ribbon. - Left-click to place the points of the freehand window (analogous to drawing a polygon), or Left-click and drag (analogous to drawing with a pencil).
- Hit ENTER or right-click and Done to finish drawing.
- The Edit Freehand Fold Window dialog appears with options to modify the Name, Color, Orientation, Primary Window, and Secondary Window.
- The Primary Window (and/or Secondary Window) can also be redrawn by clicking the Draw button or edited in a table by clicking the Edit Coordinates button.
- Complex windows can be created with a Secondary Window using the Draw button.
- Click OK to finalize the Freehand Fold Window and add it to the view.
Name
The Name acts as the fold's identifier and must be unique (i.e., two Folds cannot have the same Name).
Color
The Color provides a graphical way to identify the Fold Window. For any given Fold Window, the Color is shared between all views.
Window Limits
The Primary Window and Secondary Window can be modified either in the Edit Freehand Fold Window dialog or redrawn graphically.
