Annotative Tools
The Annotation Tools menu contains various text and shape tools for annotating Stereonet 2D and Rosette views.
Annotation Tools
Projection-Aware Position Text and Arrow tools that use Spherical coordinates and Trend/Plunge to define position are projection-aware and always inside the stereonet extents. Text and Arrow tools that use Logical coordinates and X, Y to define position are not projection-aware and can be placed anywhere in the drawing space.
Logical coordinates relative to the stereonet are as follows:
- X, Y = 0, 0 represents the center of the stereonet
- X, Y = 0, 1 represents the north edge of the stereonet
- X, Y = 1, 0 represents the east edge of the stereonet
- X, Y = 0, -1 represents the south edge of the stereonet
- X, Y = -1, 0 represents the west edge of the stereonet
The drawing extents are in the range of -4, and +4 for both X and Y coordinates.
TIP: Use Spherical coordinates for labeling or pointing at stereonet features such as poles and great circles so that the relative position "follows" the feature when the projection method or hemisphere changes.
