Power Spectrum

Power Spectrum can be used to refine the inputted dynamic load function to a given frequency range.

To use the power spectrum filtering:

  1. Ensure that you have entered a load to time plot using the Define Dynamic Loads option.
  2. Within the Define Dynamic Load by Time dialog, enable the Power Spectrum checkbox option and select Power Spectrum Power Spectrum icon .
  3. A dialog should appear allowing you to set the minimum and maximum frequency values to filter your data points.
  4. Select Reset Min/Max to find the global minimum and maximum frequencies of your entire data set.
  5. Select Show Chart Show Chart icon to plot the function in the chart area at the right.
  6. Select OK to accept the filtered points.
  7. Select the Filtered Points tab in the Define Dynamic Load by Time dialog to view the filtered points. Use the Export Export icon option to export the data to a text file. You cannot import data points as filtered points.
  8. Select OK while having the Filtered Points tab selected to use these points as your inputted load function.
