Contour Plot Overview

On a stereonet, a Contour Plot is used to show the density (frequency) of orientation data — most commonly pole/dip vectors and intersections. It is also used for the interpolation of any quantitative data.

To generate a Contour Plot:

1. Select Presets > Contour from the Stereonet 2D (or Stereonet 3D) ribbon.

The default Contour Plot is a Pole Vector Density Plot.

Contour Legend

The Legend for the Contour Plot displays the colors corresponding to the value ranges in the Contour Legend.
