Properties Overview

Defining and assigning the material properties (soil or rock) for a Slide3 analysis requires the following steps.

  1. Material properties are DEFINED in the Material Properties dialog. Any number of material types can be defined.
  2. Material properties are then ASSIGNED to the various material zones of your model using the Assign options.

Define Properties

Material Properties are defined in the Define Material Properties Material Properties Icon dialog, which is available in the toolbar or the Materials menu. Material properties include strength, water parameters and unit weight.

Assign Properties

Properties are assigned with the Assign Properties Assign Properties Icon option in the toolbar or the Materials menu. If you do not assign properties, then default properties will be in effect for all material zones of your model.

Borehole Manager

The Borehole Manager Borehold Icon option allows you to define borehole material profiles from which material geometry surfaces can be reconstructed.
