Importing XSTABL Files
XSTABL is the slope stability program produced by Interactive Software Designs Inc.
- XSTABL input data files have a *.ipt filename extension.
To import an XSTABL file into Slide2 (v5.0 or later versions):
- Select Open from the File menu or the toolbar.
- In the Open File dialog, click on the Files of Type drop-down list, and select "Xstabl Files (*.ipt)"
- The Open File dialog will now only list files with a *.ipt filename extension. If the current directory does not contain any XSTABL files, then switch to the desired directory.
- Select the XSTABL file that you want to open, and it will be opened in the Slide2 modeller.
- See the important note below for information about XSTABL features supported in Slide2.
XSTABL Features Imported Into Slide2
Import of XSTABL files into Slide2 is primarily intended to import the boundary geometry and material properties.
Due to the different approaches used for some modelling and analysis features (for example, slip surface generation), not all features of XSTABL models can be imported directly into Slide2.
ONLY THE FOLLOWING features of XSTABL models can be imported into Slide2:
- Boundary Geometry
- Material Properties
- Line Loads
Any modelling features not mentioned in the list above, will have to be re-created in Slide2 using the modelling techniques provided in Slide2.
It is highly recommended, after importing an XSTABL file into Slide2, that you check the model carefully, and verify that the data has been read correctly.
