Copy (Slide Modeller Format)
The Copy (Slide2 Modeller Format) option allows you to export entities from the Slide2 Interpret program, back into the Slide2 Model program, to be used as boundaries or other modelling entities.
The Copy (Slide2 Modeller Format) option (in the Slide2 Interpret program) works in conjunction with the Paste from Interpret option (in the Slide2 Model program). This allows you to take analysis results from the Slide2 Interpret program, as "feedback" into the Slide2 Model program, allowing the user to iteratively analyze a problem.
The following types of entities can be exported from the Slide2 Interpret program into the Slide2 Model program:
- Water Table determined from a Finite Element groundwater analysis
- Non-circular slip surfaces (e.g. generated by a Path Search or Block Search)
- Drawing tool entities: Polyline, Polygon or Pencil
- Iso-lines or Flow-lines from a Finite Element groundwater analysis
To use this option:
- First, you must select the desired entity, in the Slide2 Interpret program. This is done by right-clicking on the entity and selecting Copy (Slide2 Modeler Format) from the right-click menu. This will copy the entity to the Windows clipboard.
- Now, in the Slide2 Model program, select Edit > Paste from Interpret.
- You will see a dialog. Select the type of modelling entity that you would like to create (for example: "Water Table" or "Material Boundary").
- Select OK, and the entity will be imported from the clipboard, into the Slide2 Model program, as the entity type you selected in Step 3.
- The Copy (Slide2 Modeller Format) option is only available as a right-click option; it is NOT available in the main menu.
- If you are exporting slip surfaces (e.g. after a Block Search or a Path Search), and you wish to export a surface other than the Global Minimum slip surface, you will first have to create a Query for the slip surface, using the Add Query option. Then you can right-click on the query, to copy the surface to the clipboard.
