Mean Profile
The Mean Profile is the starting profile that is used when generating a profile automatically. The mean profile tab is divided into 3 sections: Thickness, Properties and Advanced table view.
For the mean profile the user defines:
- Maximum frequency (Hz) (located at the top left of the screen)
- Location of water table (if applicable)
- In the Thickness tab:
- Number of stratum (layers will be generated automatically within the individual stratum)
- Stratum Thickness
- In the Properties tab (depending on the analysis method selected):
- Unit weight
- Shear wave velocity and variation
- Shear strength and variation
- Reference Curve
Once defined, the mean profile is then used in the Profile Generation. See the Profile Generation topic for more details on the Profile Generation process and randomization options.
Advanced table view
The Advanced table view is an optional table that can be used to enter the parameters for multiple stratum at once without having to click through the soil profile. Users can copy and paste large amounts of data at once using the Copy/Paste functions, or manually type into the fields.
Import from RSLog
Rather than manually defining the mean profile, users can import their soil profile from their RSLog account. See the Import From RSLog topic for details on this feature. Once again note, only one profile can be imported for the Mean Profile.
