Lock to Field Point Grid

The Field Point Grid is used to compute contours of analysis results in a horizontal plane at any depth.

  • If the Lock to Field Point Grid option is enabled, then the position of the horizontal contour plane in the 3D View will remain fixed as the depth is changed (i.e. the model moves with respect to the contour plane).
  • If the Lock to Field Point Grid option is turned off, then the contour plane moves with respect to the model as the depth is changed. This is the default setting.

Depth can be changed in two ways:

  • By using the Depth control in the Sidebar
  • By using the Animate option and animating the contour plane depth

The Lock to Field Point Grid option is available in the 3D sub-menu of the View menu, and in the default right-click menu for the 3D View. It is turned on when a checkmark appears beside the menu option.
