Compute
The Settle3 analysis can be automatically or manually computed, depending on the settings in the Autocompute dialog, as described below.
Automatic Compute
Automatic compute can occur at two different points in the modelling process:
- after adding a Field Point Grid, Point Query or Line Query
- after editing any aspect of the model
When you initially add a Field Point Grid, Point Query or Line Query, by default, the analysis results are automatically computed and displayed. This behaviour can be turned on or off in the Autocompute dialog.
When you edit the model (e.g. make changes to loads, queries, material properties), by default, query results are automatically re-computed, but field point grid results are not. These settings can also be customized in the Autocompute dialog.
For more information see the Autocompute topic.
Manual Compute
When results are not automatically computed, they can be manually computed by selecting the Compute option from the Home or Results menu.
When you select Compute, all Field Point Grid and Query results which have not been computed will be computed and displayed on the model.
The Compute option is useful if the Autocompute settings have been turned off, or anytime that you want to ensure that the latest analysis results are being displayed.
Batch Compute
The Batch Compute option allows you to automatically compute multiple Settle3 files in succession.
See the Batch Compute topic for details.
