Material Properties Overview

In Settle3, soil layers can be modeled in two ways:

  • Assume all soil layers are horizontal and continuous. (see Soil Layers topic)
  • Soil profile defined by multiple boreholes or CPT boreholes.

To define the material properties and soil profile of your model:

  1. Select the model type from the Soil Profiles tab of the Project Settings.
  2. Define the material properties in the Soil Properties dialog.
  3. Define the sequence of soil layers or enter borehole and CPT data.
  4. If you are modeling collapsible soils, define the Hydroconsolidation Properties.
