The Query Display Options allow you to customize display options for Point Queries , Line Queries , Field Point Grid, Time Queries, and Boreholes.

Query Display Options Query display options is available in the toolbar, the View menu, or by right-clicking on a query. The Query Display Options are organized as follows:

  • Point Queries
  • Line Queries
  • Field Point Grid
  • Time Query
  • Boreholes
The Query Display Options apply to all queries in the current document (i.e. you cannot customize the display options for individual queries).

Point Query

The following options are available under the Point Queries tab in the Query Display Options dialog.

  • Query Marker - this allows you to customize the symbol which is used to indicate the location of a Point Query (and also the first point of a Line Query) in the Plan View and 3D View. The exterior and interior color of the marker.
  • Show Values - this will display the value of the point query data at the current depth in the Plan View.
  • Transparent - this will turn off the display of the box around the query values. Only the value will be displayed.
  • Bar Graph Scale Factor - this allows you to change the relative size of the point query data display in the 3D View.
  • Bar Orientation - this allows you to select the orientation of the point query data display in the 3D View, with respect to the X or Y axes of the Plan View.
  • Display Type - the point query data in the 3D View can be displayed as continuous contours or as discrete bars.
  • Decimal Format - this allows you to choose between Auto, Fixed, or Scientific notation when displaying values.
  • Show query IDs - this allows you to display the query ID number. (this turns on query ID display for both query points and lines)

Line Query

The following options are available under the Line Queries tab in the Query Display Options dialog.

The Line Query display options apply to the Plan View only.
  • Bars - display the data magnitude as bars along the line query
  • Lines - display the data magnitude as a continuous line along the line query
  • Values - display the data values at all points along the line query
  • Minimum and maximum values - display the minimum and maximum data values for each query
  • First point marker - display the Query Marker symbol which indicates the first point of a line query
  • Size of largest value - determines the maximum size of the line query graphs in the Plan View, with respect to either screen dimensions or model dimensions.
  • Drawing Style - various drawing style options for the display of line query data in the Plan View. (positive and negative on the same side, draw on opposite side, fill, hatch)
  • Decimal Format - this allows you to choose between Auto, Fixed, or Scientific notation when displaying values.
  • Show query IDs - this allows you to display the query ID number. (this turns on query ID display for both query points and lines)

Field Point Grid

The following options are available under the Field Point Grid tab in the Query Display Options dialog.

  • Grid Marker - this allows you to customize the symbol which is used to indicate the location of the grid points in the Plan View. By default no symbol is displayed.
  • Show Value - this will display the data value at each grid point at the current depth in the Plan View.
  • Deform Contours - allows you to view the actual 3-dimensional deformed shape of settlement surfaces (for example) at any depth. The apparent deformation is controlled by a relative or absolute scale factor. The relative scale factor applies to all data types. The absolute scale factor is only applicable for settlement (e.g. if absolute scale factor = 10, the settlement will be magnified by a factor of 10).

Time Query

The following options are available under the Time Query tab in the Query Display Options dialog.

  • Time Marker - allows you to customize the symbol which is used to indicate the location of a Time Query in the Plan View.
  • Show Value - this will display the value of the time query in the Plan View.

Boreholes

  • Borehole Marker - this allows you to customize the borehole marker. (change the symbol, interior color, exterior color)
  • Show Borehole Name - allows you to display the borehole name.
To change the default Query Display Options, choose the desired options, select the Defaults button in the Query Display Options dialog, and choose Make current settings the default.
