Zone Overview
The Zone's ground surface elevation and soil layer composition is calculated based on average values. These averages are interpolated at the geometrical center of the Zone area based on known borehole entries surrounding it. Multiple Pile Types can be added to the Zone but share the same Cut-off Elevation and Pile Depth Increment. Bored pile capacities of selected Pile Types are then computed for each Zone.
Zone capacity tables and graphs are generated based on various parameters.
Plan View
A Zone is modeled as a rectangular area in the Plan View, defined by the bottom-left and top-right corners.
Data Tips
Data tips for the Zone can be shown by hovering the cursor over the Zone. In the Plan View, data tips show:
- Zone name
- ID
- Center coordinates
- Bottom-Left Corner coordinates
- Top-Right Corner coordinates
Right-click Options
Various right-click options exists in the Plan View to modify and view results.
3D View
A Zone is modeled as a rectangular column of soil in the 3D View. The top of the Zone is drawn at the soil surface elevation, interpolated at the center of the Zone. If multiple soil layers exist, they are drawn as horizontal layers with layer thicknesses interpolated at the center of the Zone
You can turn on or off the visibility of Zones by selecting Capacity Zones from the View Controls tree in the Sidebar.
