Starting a New Project
To start creating a new project with RocFall3, select New Project from the File menu or the toolbar. A new blank project window will be opened in which you can start creating your model.
In general, you have to do the following before entering your slope geometry:
- Select Project Settings from the Analysis menu or the toolbar, so that you can configure the principal analysis parameters such as the analysis engine type (lump mass or rigid body), units, consideration of angular velocity (for lump mass engine), random number generation options, scaling functions, etc.
See the RocFall3 Quick Start Tutorial for a lesson on how to create a simple model with RocFall3.
Preferences
- Compress files when saving
- Enable GPU Acceleration (Experimental)
TIP: When RocFall3 is first started, you will always be presented with a new blank project window named "Project 1". You can immediately start creating a model in this window. If you are not starting a new project, then simply open the file you want to work with, and the blank project window will be closed automatically.
