CPT Analysis

This feature conducts CPT analysis for the purpose of correlating CPT data to various soil properties. It uses Settle3 engine for CPT analysis and provides the results in tabular format as well as graphs.

To access this page:
Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Design → CPT Analysis.

Data Entry

RSLog comes with a built-in type of field test for Cone Penetration Test (CPT). In order to add CPT data:

  • Create or edit a test hole (see this page),
  • Go to the Field Tests tab,
  • Select Cone Penetration Test (CPT) from the Test Type dropdown,
  • To import CPT data from a CSV file:
    • Clean up the CPT file received from the CPT contractor so that the file only contains tabular data for depth, qc, fs, u2
    • Make sure the file is comma separated (i.e. CSV format),
    • Click the down arrow next to the +New button and select Import CSV File,
    • Upload the CSV file and complete the column mapping,
    • Click Import button. This completes CPT data entry,
  • Once the CPT data is in RSLog, head to the CPT Analysis page,
  • from the header of the page select the desired test hole containing CPT dataset.

Settings

Use the CPT Settings section on the left side of the page to set the input units as well as selecting analysis methods used in correlating soil parameters.

Analysis

To carry out the analysis, click Run CPT Analysis button. This will populate the table with analysis results. The CPT Interpretation results are available in both graphical and tabular format. For additional information please see this document.
