Export Geometry

The Export Geometry function allows users to export their model geometry for use in other programs. The geometry can be exported in the following file formats:

  • RS Geometry Object (*.rsgeomobj) (Rocscience Geometry object file format)
  • OBJ Files (*.obj)
  • STL Files (*.stl; *.stlbin)
  • DFX Files (*.dxf; *)
  • DWG Files (*.dwg)
  • STEP Files (*.step; *.stp)
  • IGES Files (*.iges; *.igs)
  • OFF Files (*.off)
  • FBX Files (*.fbx)
  • PLY Files (*.ply)

To export your geometry:

  1. Select the geometry layers you wish to export under the Visibility tree.
  2. Select File > Export > Export Geometry from the menu (or Geometry > Import/Export > Export Geometry).
  3. Select folder location where you would like to save the file and enter the file name.
  4. Select the file format (listed above).
  5. Click Save.
