Material Layering
You can create external layering outside of the excavation. This is meant to be used as similar to the External feature in RS3, but in EX3 this creates material extent around the excavation.
To generate a Material Layering,
- Select the Geometry workflow tab.
- Select Material > Material Layering option . You will be able to select four different options. Select Create Material Extents to create a external material extent around the excavation geometry.
- You will be prompted with size of the material extent, with expansion factor for each x, y, z coordinates. After entering the factor for each coordinates, select OK.
- You will see the external box is created in visibility tree. The applied property is assigned as Host Rock which can be changed to other materials if desired.
Note that you can also create a geometry using 3D primitive geometry tool and assign the created geometry as external extent by selecting the layer from visibility tree and selecting Geometry > Material Layering > Add to material extent/Set as material extent. You can also remove the assigned material extent by selecting Geometry > Material Layering > Clear material extent.
