Slope Rock Unit Weight

The Rock Unit Weight is required input data for an SWedge model. It is used to determine the total weight of a wedge:

Wedge Weight = Wedge Volume * Rock Unit Weight

The wedge weight is the primary driving force in the SWedge stability analysis.

The Rock Unit Weight is entered in the Input Data dialog. The units used to define the Rock Unit Weight will be either metric or imperial, according to the setting of the Units option in the Project Settings dialog.

  • Metric units are MN/m3, tonnes/m3, kN/m3
  • Imperial units are tons/ft3, kips/ft3, lbs/ft3
