Program Assumptions

CPillar assumes the following geometrical conditions:

  • A rectangular or polygonal pillar of constant thickness (column, plate, or beam), fixed along all edges.
  • The presence of release surfaces along the pillar edges (i.e., abutments) that resist sliding (i.e., shear).
  • Consideration of other failure mechanisms due to confinement stresses, vertical loading, and bending.
