Do you care deeply about how people use and experience software? Can you spot design problems in complex tools and develop logical and elegant solutions based on your knowledge of user behaviour, technology, and UX best practices?

Rocscience is looking for a multi-talented UX/UI specialist to spearhead the creation of a unified user experience for the entire suite of our 2D and 3D geotechnical software. You will work with a dynamic team of geotechnical and software engineers to develop a cohesive visual language to create clear, consistent, recognizable, and responsive user interfaces while enabling continuity, collaboration, and seamless integration across the full range of our interdependent and highly technical products. You will conceptualize design solutions based on research and analysis of user needs and define interaction models for best implementation of user task flows. You will communicate your designs and solutions to engineers and developers using prototypes, wireframes, workflows, and other design artifacts.

  • You make technology work for people: You know how to design software that works for users and makes their day-to-day lives easier. You’re passionate about bringing exceptional experiences to customers and are always on top of trends, best practices, and advancements in UX/UI.
  • You have a strong portfolio of design projects. You have proven UX/UI experience demonstrated by a strong portfolio of projects you’ve worked on as a designer using a variety of visual design and prototyping tools.


  • At least 3 years of proven experience designing/developing UX/UI
  • Experience designing user experiences for 3D applications
  • Experience designing user interfaces for CAD modeling
  • Able to research and analyze user needs and to design solutions and experiences that solve user problems and customer pain points
  • Comfortable with making a case for design solutions based on research, UX/UI best practices, and use cases
  • Experience working with a variety of visual design and prototyping tools
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Ability to analyze instrumentation, logging, and other tools for measuring physical quantities
  • Experience with CAD and 3D modelling experience is an asset
  • WPF/.Net control development experience
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills
