Failure Criterion

In the Material Properties dialog a wide variety of Failure Criterion models are available for modeling shear strength of soil or rock, including linear, non-linear, anisotropic and discrete options. To choose a Failure Criterion for a given material:

  • Select the Strength tab in the Material Properties dialog
  • Select the Failure Criterion

The following Failure Criterion options are available.

Mohr-Coulomb

Undrained

Infinite Strength

Anisotropic Strength

Shear/Normal Function

C/Phi Function

Generalized Hoek-Brown

Vertical Stress Ratio

Barton-Bandis

Power Curve
