Importing SLOPE/W Files
SLOPE/W is the slope stability program produced by Seequent.
- Legacy SLOPE/W input data files have a *.slp or *.slz filename extension.
- Current SLOPE/W input data files have a *.gsz or *.xml filename extension.
To import a SLOPE/W file into Slide2 (v5.0 or later versions):
- Select File > Open from the menu or click Open
in the toolbar.
- In the Open dialog, click on the File Type drop-down list, and select Slope/W Files (*.slp; *.slz) or GeoStudio 2004/2007 Files (*.gsz; *.xml).
- The dialog will now only list files with the applicable extensions. Select the SLOPE/W file that you want to open, and it will be opened in the Slide2 Modeller.
The SLOPE/W features supported in Slide2 are listed below.
SLOPE/W Features Imported Into Slide2
Due to the different approaches used for some modelling and analysis features (for example, slip surface generation), not all features of SLOPE/W models can be imported directly into Slide2.
When importing from legacy SLOPE/W files, only the following features of SLOPE/W models can be imported into Slide2:
- Boundary Geometry
- Material Properties (NOTE: NOT ALL STRENGTH MODELS ARE SUPPORTED)
- Line Loads
When importing from current SLOPE/W files, the following features of SLOPE/W models can be imported into Slide2:
- Boundary Geometry (external, material, anisotropic, weak layers, etc.)
- Material Properties (NOTE: NOT ALL STRENGTH MODELS ARE SUPPORTED)
- Support Properties
- Surface Options
- Project Settings
Any modelling features not mentioned in the list above will have to be re-created in Slide2 using the modelling techniques provided in Slide2.
It is highly recommended, after importing a SLOPE/W file into Slide2, that you check the model carefully, and verify that the data has been read correctly.
