Data Tips
Data Tips allow you to quickly access information about model input parameters, and analysis results, by simply hovering the mouse over the desired model entities or locations, in the Plan View or 3D View. Information which can be displayed as Data Tips includes:
- Load properties
- Material properties
- Query properties
- Vertex coordinates
- Contour data at any point
To enable Data Tips, select the desired option (Min, Max or Query) from the Status Bar at the bottom of the application window, or the Data Tips sub-menu in the View menu. If you do not want Data Tips displayed, select Data Tips Off.
The following options are available:
Data Tips Max
The Data Tips Max option will provide the maximum amount of information about model entities. For example, when the mouse is hovered over a soil layer in the 3D View, a complete list of properties for that material will appear.
Data Tips Min
The Data Tips Min option will provide a minimal amount of information, for example, material names, load names, vertex coordinates.
Data Tips Query
The Data Tips Query option will display exact interpolated values of data at any point on the contour planes, corresponding to the current cursor location. This includes horizontal contours (computed from the field point grid), and vertical contours (computed from line queries).
Data Tips Off
Since you will not always want Data Tips to be enabled, you can turn off the Data Tips display by selecting Data Tips Off.
In general, experiment with placing the cursor over various model and view elements, while in Data Tips mode, to discover what information is available for the various model and view elements (e.g. loads, queries, contours, soil layers etc).
