Move Query

The Move Query option can be used to move a query to a new location. Move Query can be used for both Point Queries and Line Queries.

To use Move Query:

  1. Select Move Query move query point from the Query tab.
  2. In the Plan View, use the mouse to select the queries you would like to move.
    • You can select Point Queries and/or Line Queries
    • You can select individual queries or click and drag a selection window to select multiple queries.
  3. When you are finished selecting, press Enter or right-click and select Done Selection.
  4. You will then be prompted to enter two points defining the move. You can enter the points graphically with the mouse, or with the keyboard in the prompt line (see below for additional information).
  5. After the second point is entered, all of the queries selected in Step 2 will be translated from their original positions according to the vector defined by the two points. The query results will be automatically updated if the Autocompute option is enabled.
  • The two points defining the move can be anywhere in the Plan View, only their relative positions are important.
  • You can define a relative displacement by typing the "@" symbol in the prompt line followed by the relative x and y displacement (Step 4). For example, type @50 -20 followed by Enter to move a query 50 units to the right and 20 units down.

    Right-Click Shortcuts

Move Query is available as a right-click shortcut for individual queries:

    1. In the Plan View, right-click the mouse on a Point Query or a Line Query, and the query will be "selected".
    2. Select Move Query from the popup menu and follow steps 4 and 5 described above.

For Line Queries, you can move either endpoint of the query using a right-click shortcut:

    1. Right-click on either endpoint of a Line Query.
    2. Select a Move option from the popup menu (Move To, Move Relative, Move by Dist. and Angle), and follow the prompt line instructions to move the selected endpoint of the query.

The Move Query option cannot be used on query planes. To move a query plane you need to right-click on the plane and change the orientation or left-click and drag the plane to the new location.
