Volume Loss

When applicable, Volume Loss is reported in the Excavation Areas section of the Report Generator.

We define volume loss as the change in the area of the external boundary divided by the original excavation area. Another way to is to define it as the subsidence area divided by the original tunnel area.

For people who wish to define it as the subsidence area (change in external boundary area) divided by the current tunnel area after deformation in a particular stage, this needs to be done manually using the excavated area values in the Report Generator.
