Opening a File

CPillar files have a filename extension of .cpil5. Older version files have a .cpil extension.

To open an existing CPillar file, click on the Open Folder Icon toolbar button, or select File > Open from the menu.

Whenever a CPillar file is opened, the analysis is automatically run on the data.

  • If the Analysis Type is set to DETERMINISTIC, you will not notice the analysis since the calculation is instantaneous.
  • If the Analysis Type is PROBABILISTIC, you may notice that it may take a few seconds to complete the analysis, depending on the Number of Samples. The progress of the analysis is indicated in the status bar.

Running the analysis each time a file is opened ensures that results can be immediately viewed. The user does not need to select Calculator Icon Compute unless the Pillar Information is changed (or Autocompute is OFF).
