Header/Footer Designer
The Header/Footer Designer allows you to add various elements to the Header or Footer of your report.
These elements include:
- Labels: are used to add a static label in your reports. In Header/Footer Designer, labels are shown with a light grey background
- Database field: retrieves data from your project or test hole and displays it while generating the report. In Header/Footer Designer, database fields are shown with light green background. The prefix "B:" or "P:" at the beginning of each element represents borehole data or project data, respectively.
- User Name: prints the user name in the report.
- Date: prints the current date at the time of generating the report.
- Page Number: is generated based on the number of pages in the report.
- Logo: allows to insert the company logo or any other image in the template.
- QR Code: a machine-readable optical label that can contain information about the item to which it is attached. This can be scanned by a cell phone or tablet and directs the user to a webpage. Insert a QR code on your report template and specify the target web address.
- Shapes: refers to basic geometric shapes that may be added to your report
The Database field is one of the most useful objects to add your report. This object holds information about current project or borehole.
To add an element to the Header/Footer:
- Click and hold the icon in the tool bar with your mouse.
- Drag the element to either the Header or Footer and position it where you want.
- A properties pane will appear on the right side of the dialog to allow you to edit the element (font type, size, etc.)
- Elements can also be resized by clicking and dragging the corner of an element.
The Header/Footer Designer also includes other useful design tools such as:
- Show Grid - click this icon to turn the gridlines on or off when needed. Gridlines are only used for aligning the objects on your report and will not be shown on your project reports.
Click and hold the Show Grid icon to define the size of the gridline shown in the background of the header or footer. - Snap to Grid - click on the icon to activate option. This is particularly useful when moving or resizing objects.
- Export/Import to XML
